Raising a family in Arvida

Arvida became a 29 year stop in Ed's 39 year career with Alcan. The small size of the town allowed him the luxury of going home for lunch with his family. His sons felt that, based on Ed'd ritual of grabbing a quick after-lunch siesta before returning to work, his job mustn't be that strenuous. After three children arrived, a golden retriever named Flame completed the family. She was a good companion, and Ed enjoyed taking his turn walking Flame, as it gave him time to think about his work that he enjoyed so much. His work-related focus was legendary, which Flame witnessed first-hand on more than one occasion. Once, when driving through Alcan's security checkpoint where visitors had to show their Alcan identification passes, the guard asked if he had Alcan ID for his passenger. Ed was momentarily confused, until he turned around to see Flame in the back seat. On another occasion when taking her out for a walk, he made it half way around the dog's normal route before noticing that he had left a very puzzled Flame still sitting at home.
